If you consider yourself a philosopher, influencer, thinker or peace activist. If you are heart-filled with love for your brother of another mother, then join us at Strawberry Fields, Central Park just opposite to the Dakota Apartments where the famous John Lennon lived and was murdered December 8th, 1980 by a man that reflected everything opposite to what John Lennon and the Beatles represented – piece, communication, reaching out and love both plutonic and romantic. Things plaguing people’s minds then, and again and again today.
The hope and love expressed by John Lennon lives on thanks to Yoko Ono and many other contributors of the Strawberry fields. In a city most fitting – the melting pot so called where people from all cultures, religions, races, places stand alongside their neighbors, co-workers, friends and families to bring us as close as we can to that dream sang about by John Lennon and his co-composers Ono that make it New York today.
Come to Strawberry Fields, a flicker of the burning lights of tolerance, hope and diversity of dreams that live on through the lyrics of Imagine sang daily by many musicians and the actions of those honoring the memories of John Lennon as they pass by.
So many free things to do in Central Park that even if you tried you could not do all in a day or even a week.
Just take a nature walk to the “Imagine” tribute of John Lennon. Take photos of yourself there or with some other iconic figures throughout the park, including William Shakespeare, Balto, Alice & Wonderland and the oldest public monument in North America, The Obelisk.
If all your energy is not spent pass by the Belvedere Castle.
